Plan and participate in audits and special projects.
Survey functions and activities to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives.
Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data as a basis for an informed objective opinion on the adequacy or effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the activities being reviewed.
Perform audits in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved program.
Develop logical and coherent work papers which are supportive of audit conclusions.
Direct, instruct and evaluate staff assistants. Review assistant's work for sufficiency of scope and for accuracy.
Conduct entrance and exit conferences.
Make oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the examination, discuss deficiencies and recommend corrective action to improve operations and reduce cost.
Write reports to management with audit findings after conclusion of the fieldwork.
Communicate training needs to supervisors, and participate in continuing education programs.
Assist in the development or revision of department policies/practices.
Trained and help staff auditors to achieve department goal.
1. Bachelor Degree in some discipline of business with an accounting degree preferred, Masters Degree is desirable.
2. A professional certification is required. CPA, CMA, CPIM, CIA or the equivalent (ACA, ACCA, and CIMA) is preferred.
3. Four plus years accounting or business experience, with strong preference for major public or corporate audit experience.
4. Ability to work in a highly complex environment under general direction with very minimal review.
5. A sound knowledge of audit and accounting concepts necessary. Additional training is anticipated.
6. Fluent in both written and spoken English.
7. Travel frequency up to 25%-30%.
